KiP Telford, based in Wellington, is celebrating 20 years of dedicated service to individuals experiencing homelessness in the Telford area. Established in 2005 by Alan Olver MBE, KiP has become a cornerstone in the community, offering vital assistance to those in need. Over the past two decades, KiP has made significant strides in addressing homelessness, providing an accessible support hub and immediate assistance to individuals facing homelessness. Collaborating closely with local authorities, KiP has worked to fulfil the objectives of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2018, aiming to prevent rough sleeping and support single individuals in securing stable accommodation.
KiP’s efforts have been recognised with founder Alan Olver MBE being awarded an Honorary Freeman of the Borough for his over forty years of tireless service to the homeless. Looking ahead, KiP continues to respond to the growing need for affordable housing. Upcoming events, such as the Telford Sleep Out on 10 October, offer opportunities for individuals to get involved and support KiP’s mission to end homelessness in the area.
