A wonderful afternoon was spent celebrating the 65th birthday of Belmont Hall, surrounded by so many of the people who have loved, supported and cared for this special community space over the years 💚
It was clear throughout the celebration that Belmont Hall is much more than a building — it’s a big family, built by generations of people who have given their time, energy and care to make it what it is today. Maureen Powell, the President of the venue was also in attendance to commemorate the occasion.
Guests enjoyed speeches from Belmont Hall President Maureen Powell, Cllr Eileen Callear, Cllr Paul Davis and the community hall’s coordinator Stephen Handley. Cllr Angela McClements was also in attendance.
It was also great to hear that 4 borough councillors, Lee Carter, Paul Davis, Angela McClements and Graham Cook are using their discretionary Pride funding to support this wonderful friendly Friday lunch club which is so valued. A lovely lunch was shared, followed by entertainment from Shropshire Magician Jack Dent, which was enjoyed by all. Congratulations to Belmont Hall on 65 years at the heart of the community — a fantastic milestone for a place that means so much to so many. 👏
